JR East will stop driving on the Yamanote Line and Keihin Tohoku Line on November 16th.

The Keihin Tohoku Line and the Yamanote Line will be suspended in some sections due to the track switching work for the opening of Takanawa Gateway Station on November 16, 2019.

• From the first train to around 16:00

[Keihin Tohoku Line]

The section will be suspended between Shinagawa and Tamachi Station, and will stop high-speed driving. Return to the Ofuna direction at Shinagawa Station and the Omiya direction at Tamachi Station. The work will be temporarily suspended between Tamachi and Higashi-Jujo Station for about 20 minutes from 15:00.

[Yamanote Line]

The section is suspended between Osaki, Tokyo and Ueno Station. Turn back at Osaki Station and Ueno Station.

[Ueno Tokyo Line]

The number of trains will increase from around 4:40 between Shinagawa and Ueno Station.

[Rinkai Line]

From about 4:30 to about 6 o’clock, Tokyo Teleport-Osaki Station will increase, and from 10 o’clock, Shinkiba-JR line will be increased.

If you plan to use the Yamanote Line or Keihin Tohoku Line, you can use the Ueno Tokyo Line and Rinkai Line as well as the Tokyo Metro Line, Toei Subway Line, Tokyu Line , Keikyu Line , Yurikamome Line.

• Around 16:00 to the last train

[Keihin Tohoku Line]

The section is suspended between Shinagawa and Tamachi Station. Return to the Ofuna direction at Shinagawa Station and return to the Omiya direction at Tamachi Station and Higashi-Jujo Station. There will be less driving between Tamachi and Higashi-Jujo Station.

[Yamanote Line]

Sequential operation resumes. Around 18 o’clock, the number will be reduced from normal.

Please note that the platform for Shinagawa Station bound for Keihin Tohoku Line Omiya will change from the current No. 3 line to No. 4 line from November 17th.

If construction is not possible due to bad weather, etc., it will be postponed to December 14.

Takanawa Gateway Station is scheduled to open in the spring of 2020 and will open in 2024.
